JD\'s Dragon named Batavia\'s Horse of the Year

Batavia Downs\' vice president of racing and gaming Michael D. Kane announced Wednesday that by unanimous vote, J D’s Dragon has been selected as Horse of the Year at the recently concluded 2007 harness meet at Batavia Downs Gaming.


In 18 Batavia starts, JD’s Dragon won 10, with four seconds and one third, earning $41,676. The 6 year-old son of Dragon\'s Lair is now owned by Janet Herdegen of Orlando, Fla., and trained and driven by 2007 meet leader in both categories, Keith Kash Jr.


J D’s Dragon has started 46 times in 2007, with 18 wins, 10 seconds and five thirds; his seasonal earnings are $84,631. J D’s Dragon is currently two wins off the North America leader, Swanee, for the most wins of any racehorse this season.(Batavia Downs)
