Jessee's Career wins first of 2011 at Dover

Jessee’s Career, a 6-1 shot, post his first 2011 win besting eight rivals in the $14,500 trot on Saturday at Dover Downs.
Allan Davis opened up two lengths turning for home and that was more than enough to score a 1:59.3 victory in the night’s feature race. Owned by Carol and husband trainer Jim Atkinson, Jessee’s Career, 4-year-old son of Jailhouse Jesse-Pine Career earned a new mark and his first win of the year. For the fifth consecutive start CC’s Fred (Sean Bier) was bridesmaid. Political Muscle finished third.
Funky Cole Medina roared past eight rivals to score a 1:55.4 victory in a Delaware $20,000 male claiming pace. Trained by Wayne Givens for Paisley, the Adams and Legacy Racing Of Delaware, Jim Morand piloted the win, the third for both the driver and trainer. Landfairsfirstmach (Corey Callahan) finished second and was claimed for the fifth straight time. Best Dream Seeker (Brad Hanners) was the show finisher.
Driver Morand and trainer Wayne Givens had three wins each. Brad Hanners drove both ends of the daily double. Matt Kakaley had two wins while owner-trainer Toby Lynch and owner Niel Gargiulo also collected two wins each. (Dover Downs)
