For the second straight week, Joey The Jet JT trotted home in 1:55.4, good enough to get the winner's circle again to win the Wednesday feature race, the $30,000 St. Patrick's day Open/Handicap trot at Dover Downs on March 17.

Joey The Jet JT sat patiently as Chosen Voyageur and Ron Pierce cut out the early fractions and appeared strong until halfway down the lane when a convoy of challengers were on the move behind the leader. In the closing strides, Joey The Jet JT and Ross Wolfenden were coming the fastest and outlegged Daryl Bier-driven Jeter Marvel to get to the wire first. Early Shirley, with driver Jack Parker Jr., the only mare in the select field, also closed with a rush and finished a close-up third. Eric Ell conditions the game Joey The Jet JT, a Wesgate Crown-NV Becky gelding for Ken Wood and Bill Dittmar. It was his third win in eight races this year for the $39,540 winning seven-year-old.

Home Be Advantage came rolling down the lane to overtake front-pacing Caerleon Hanover (Jon Roberts) to win the $11,000 Male pace in 1:53.2. MJGB Racing and trainer Dave McCaffrey own the Cole Muffler-Sportsmistress gelding in his first win of the year. Hicktown (Ron Pierce) was a strong third.

In early morning qualifying races, it was a big day for trainer George Teague and driver Montrell Teague. They combine for seven winners from a 16-race non-wagering program. The fastest win of the day was a 12-length win by a budding sophomore Chasin Racin home in 1:52.3. Mr. Wiggles, a four-year-old, also won easily in 1:54.1 by 6-½ lengths, both are co-owned by Elmer Fannin and Teague Inc. The other Teague wins were Zee Barber in 1:55.3, Built To Drive, by 10 in 1:56.3, No Bad Luck in 1:56.4 and trotters The Kentuckian, a 1:59.4 win and Jet Set, a 2:01.3 winner.

Daryl Bier had two wins, Western Guy in 1:55 by 11 lengths and Roy Orbisong in 1:57.4. Tony Morgan won a pair: Redford Hall in 1:58 and Chilli NZ beat Teague-trainee Johnny Z by a neck in 1:55.3. (Dover)
