Jugette winner Just Wait Kate has been retired from racing and will be bred to Western Ideal, according to trainer Travis Alexander. Alexander told The Horseman Tuesday afternoon that "with her chronic foot problems it would be in her best interest to retire her to the breeding shed."

Just Wait Kate won seven of 13 starts in 2005 and $276,132. Besides the Jugette, also included among the 3-year-old filly pacer's victories this year was a career-best 1:50.4 win in a Tarport Hap division at the Meadowlands.

Overall, Just Wait Kate retires with nine wins in 19 starts and $387,931 in earnings for owners Arlene and Jules Siegel. She will now head to the Siegel's Fashion Farms in New Hope, Pa. She is a full sister to the $1.2 million-winning Kikikatie and a half sister to Katie's Western, who earned more than $100,000 this year in her freshman campaign.
