Horseman Lutfi Kolgjini’s annual horse sale was held at the Jaegersro in Malmö Monday night and 56 of the horses in the catalog (a majority)went to new owners. Kolgjini, by the way, has entered two fillies in the Merrie Annabelle eliminations, two colts in the Peter Haughton Memorial elims, and one filly in the Oaks.
The highest price was brought by the 8-year-old international star Citation 1:52.3 (Conway Hall-Italian Cut, by Chiola Hanover), who is still is racing in the Kolgjini Stable, but in the future will be a stallion prospect. He has already earned about $800,000, and Kolgjini himself bought the horse for about $380,000.
In addition to the purchase of Citation, the Swedish trotting publication Travronden is reporting that Simb Chplin 1:53.2 (Pearsall Hanover-Moonie As, by Ideal du Gazeau), a winner of about $750,000, will join the Kolgjini Stable after Tuesday night’s Hugo Aberg Memorial race so that he can be regularly trained on the beach near Kolgjini’s training center.
