Lather Up 2-1 favorite in Saturday's Milstein

This year's $400,000 Carl Milstein Memorial for 3-year-old open pacers on Saturday night at Northfield Park has attracted a strong field of eight, including four recent champions of major stakes.
North America Cup champ Lather Up has drawn post 2 and installed as the 2-1 morning-line favorite for the Milstein Memorial. Driven by Montrell Teague for trainer Clyde Francis and owners Gary and Barbara Iles, Lather Up has won eight of nine starts this year, including his career-best 1:48.1 in capturing the NA Cup final.
Jimmy Freight, who has won two straight Ontario Sires Stakes and a Somebeachsomewhere division, and finished fourth in the Meadowlands Pace as a supplemental entry, is the 3-1 second choice on the morning line and starting from post 1. Louis Roy will drive for trainer Andrew Harris and owner Adriano Sorella.
Recent Adios winner Dorsoduro Hanover will start from post 5 and the 4-1 third choice for driver Matt Kakaley, trainer Ron Burke and owners Burke Racing Stable, Silva, Purnell & Libby, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Wingfield Five. Max C. Hempt Memorial winner Springsteen is the 6-1 third choice from post 4 for driver David Miller, trainer Rene Allard and owners Allard Racing, Bruce Soulsby, Kapildeo Singh and Alan Weisenberg.
