Lazarus N scratched from Saturday invite

Lazarus N has been scratched sick from Saturday afternoon's $250,000 Dan Rooney Invitational Pace at Yonkers Raceway. The invitational is part of the big International Trot program at Yonkers, with a first post of 1 pm Saturday.

"He has been coughing and this way we can make sure he is OK for BC," said trainer Jimmy Takter via text of the reason for the scratch, referring to the upcoming Breeders Crown.

Lazarus N drew post 6 in the race, to the outside of McWicked (post 2), who bested him in the Allerage Pace at the Red Mile last Sunday. McWicked won that race in 1:46.2, with Lazarus N three-quarters of a length back in second after racing parked the entire distance.
