Snazzy Millie posted a 1:54 clocking in Tuesday night’s $40,000 Preferred Trot at Woodbine, setting a North American season’s mark for older trotting mares as well as the Canadian season’s mark for all trotters.

Driver Mark MacDonald sent the 6-year-old daughter of Royal Strength to the lead in an opening quarter in :27.3 before yielding to Stiletto (Luc Ouellette), who led the field through fractions of :56.2 and 1:25.3.

Snazzy Millie tipped out heading into the homestretch, then closed in :28.1 to win by 3 ¼ lengths for her third score in 12 tries.

She is owned by Terry and Clarence Devos and trained by Paul Skjaker.
