McArdle wins Magical Mike

McCardle romped to a nine-length win in the $113,100 Magical Mike at the Delaware, Ohio fairgrounds Thursday afternnoon (Sept. 18). With Mike Lachance driving, McCardle crossed the wire in 1:50.3 to easily defeat My Pal Mark and six other older pacers.



A 4-year-old son of Falcon Seelster, McArdle boosted his career earnings past the $2.4 million mark with his seventh win of the year in 16 starts.



Chris Ryder trains McArdle for owners Norm and Gerald Smiley, Anthony Perretti and Perretti Racing Stable. In the winner's circle, both Ryder and Norm Smiley said that McArdle will next start in the American-National final at Balmoral and that a time trial effort at The Red Mile in Lexington, Ky., the closing weekend of the Grand Circuit meet (Oct. 3 or 4) is a possibility.
