McIntosh babies qualify

Art's Risk, a full brother to 1998 Three-Year-Old Colt Pacer of the Year Artiscape, won a qualifier at Windsor Raceway Wednesday morning (July 7) in 1:59.2, pacing a final half in :56.2. The 2 year old is trained by Bob McIntosh, whose horses were the main attraction of the session.



Steve Condren directed Art's Risk to the victory for owners Brittany Farms and Brian Monieson Revtrust.



Muscle Shoals, a son of Muscles Yankee, won his qualifier in 2:05.3 with Condren driving. Condren also drove Tyrone Megabucks, a son of San Pellegrino, to a 2:07.2 victory. McIntosh, CSX Stables and Arden Homestead Stable own the $114,000 yearling purchase.



Oliver Jackson, a $300,000 yearling purchase of McIntosh and CSX Stable, finished second in his qualifier, race-timed in 2:03.4. Western Smile, a $100,000 yearling buy, also finished second in his mile, race-timed in 1:58. Stonebridge Trophy, a $200,000 yearling purchase, finished fifth in a time of 2:02.4.



Also, Western Edition, a Western Hanover half brother to 2003 Older Pacer of the Year Art Major, broke stride in his qualifying attempt.



McIntosh trained nearly all the horses in the nine qualifying contests, using Woodbine Entertainment Group-based drivers Condren and Randy Waples, as well as Bill Gale, Art McIlmurray, Wally McIlmurray Jr. and Don McElroy, who are stable assistants.
