Longtime Michigan-based owners Dave and Sue Miller were killed in an explosion at 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon at their home in Thetford Township, which is a few miles north of Flint and 65 miles northwest of Detroit.

Reports state that Dave Miller was using a backhoe on his property and hit a gas line. Miller reported the incident to Consumers Energy, which sent a technician to the house. When the technician went back outside to go to his truck to get tools and call for other workers, that's when the house suddenly exploded. Local authorities are investigating the cause of the blast.
