The Michigan Senate on Thursday (April 29) passed by a vote of 20-18 a bill that will allow the introduction of video lottery terminals at the state's seven racetracks. The vote came after hours of discussion and debate and numerous amendments. But when all was said and done, House Bill 4610 passed by two votes, which prompted a loud ovation from the gallery, which was admonished by the chair for the demonstration.

Next up for the bill is that it will go to a conference committee made up of members of the House and Senate and they will resolve the differences between the version of the bill that passed the House a year ago and the version that passed the Senate Thursday.
