Mick Jag N, recently voted the Older Pacing Horse of the Year at Monticello Raceway, won over the half-miler for the eighth time in 2005 on Tuesday afternoon, scoring in 1:56.2 over a rain-soaked racetrack in the $12,000 Open Pace.

Driven by Greg Merton for trainer Mark Ford and owners George and Rose Bonomo, the 6-year-old gelded son of Jaguar Spur won by three lengths over the Larry Stalbaum-driven Noble Cam.

Merton sent his charge to the front from post two, securing the lead before the first turn. The betting favorite had his own way the rest of the route as he increased his 2005 bankroll to more than $86,000 with the victory.
