Jimmy Takter has announced via Twitter Friday afternoon that David Miller will not be making the trip to Denmark to drive Uncle Peter in Sunday's Copenhagen Cup. The announcement comes in the aftermath of Miller being dumped to the track in a pre-race incident Wednesday afternoon at Harrah's Philadelphia.
Miller told harnessracing.com Thursday afternoon while at the doctor's office that he was still planning on making the trip. However, Takter tweeted Friday afternoon, just a few hours before he and Miller were scheduled to board a plane together to head overseas, "No David Miller to Copenhagen cup (sic). David is still not feeling right after his accident Wednesday. My brother Johnny will drive.”
Miller was going to post with Contraband Hanover for Race 7 Wednesday afternoon at Philadelphia when he was hit from behind by another horse and dumped to the track. Although he drove the remainder of the card, Miller said because he still didn't feel right and was nauseous on Thursday morning, he went to the doctor's office where tests were performed.
