Last weekend we had the North America Cup card at Woodbine Mohawk Park, and this weekend the major stakes action remains in Canada as the racetrack hosts another huge night of racing. In the new and free HarnessRacing Weekend Preview, trainer Chris Ryder talks about his chances with Bettor’s Wish in the Canadian Pacing Derby. Trainer Nancy Takter gives her take on Manchego starting from the second tier in the Maple Leaf Trot and reveals the upcoming schedule for Tall Dark Stranger, who will be spending some time in the Bluegrass State. Also, trainer Jim Campbell starts Crystal Fashion in the Maple Leaf Trot, and he talks about his “yo-yo” year.

The road to get there may have zig-zagged a bit this year but we have the first Sires Stakes championships of the year taking place. Scioto Downs has a big Ohio Super Night card on tap for Sunday, and the Pennsylvania championships will take place on Saturday with the 2 year olds at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono and on Sunday with the 3 year olds at Harrah’s Philadelphia.

The Red Mile has announced limited spectators for its Kentucky Sires Stakes final later this month and the Grand Circuit weeks in October, and the Breeders Crown also announced a plan for limited spectators for its two-night extravaganza at the end of next month at Harrah’s Hoosier Park.
