Mohawk Racetrack cancelled its Saturday night harness program after three races due to a power problem in the surrounding area. Two races were completed and the third race - a division of the Nassagaweya Stakes - was three-quarters of the way complete when darkness enveloped the Mohawk oval.
The remaining divisions of the Nassagaweya Stakes and Eternal Camnation Stakes have been rescheduled as non-wagering events for Monday evening beginning at 6 pm.
Idyllic was victorious in the solo division of the Eternal Camnation Stakes and Prodigal Seelster was the winner in the lone Nassagaweya Stakes event.
The Nassagaweya that was contested and won by Prodigal Seelster--race 3 on the card--was completed and made official after the Ontario Racing Commission judges communicated with each of the drivers in the race. The last quarter mile of the race was conducted without the lighting system, the photo finish equipment, the teletimer and the Trackus charting and race patrol system. (WEG)
