Monticello changes December schedule

During the month of December there will be a change in the live racing schedule at Monticello Raceway.


Racing will continue with the same Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday schedule through Thursday, Dec. 13. Beginning Monday, Dec. 17, however, eight consecutive racing programs are scheduled through Christmas Eve Day, Monday, Dec. 24.


The Raceway will be dark on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, but will resume racing on Wednesday, Dec. 26 and continue on Thursday, Dec. 27.


A final 2007 race card will be presented on New Years Eve Day, Monday, Dec. 31. On that day The Mighty M will card, and is hopeful to once again fill, a race strictly for 14 year olds, who, according to harness racings rules and regulations, will have to be retired when they turn 15 on Jan. 1, 2008.


Post times remain at 12:40 p.m. for every race card. In all, there will be 19 live racing programs during December.


Simulcasts wagering will continue to be available seven days a week. Harness programs can be wagered on Mondays through Saturdays while Thoroughbred simulcasts will be available Wednesdays through Sundays. (Monticello Raceway)
