Monticello Gaming and Raceway has recently made a concerted effort to integrate video gaming machines (VGMs) with their horse racing product, and thus make it easier for racing fans to play the horses while enjoying the video games.

The addition of a multitude of TVs strategically placed throughout the entire facility enables the gaming players to watch the live racing product whenever the races are offered, which at the current time is Monday through Thursday from 1:10 p.m. until approximately 5 p.m. (EDT).

According to Amy Penchansky, the assistant director of marketing, televisions have been added in the racino’s Buffet and Terrace Restaurant, which affords diners the ability to wager on the live races while enjoying their meals.

“We have a teller who walks around the dining areas and takes bets from anyone who wishes to wager on the races,” Penchansky said. “And after patrons place their bets they can watch the live race on the televisions without having to interrupt their meal to go outside to view it from the grandstand apron.

“We also have a SAM (screen activated machine) at the entrance to the Buffet, and by the Lava Lounge, which are always available to the VGM players who might want to make a wager on our horse races,” she added. (Monticello)
