Mr. Eero, who won a heat of the 2003 Kentucky Futurity and finished second behind Mr. Muscleman in the Breeders Crown 3-Year-Old Colt Championship that year, won his European debut in Sweden Monday night. He defeated world champion Victory Tilly in a mile rate of 1:56.4.

Mr. Eero, who was driven by Jorma Kontio, is a son of Conway Hall. Erkki Lakkonen bred and still owns Mr. Eero.

Victory Tilly, who set a world record of 1:50.4 at the Meadowlands, was making his first start back after suffering a serious injury. His trainer, Stig H. Johansson, has already said that the horse will not be competing in the Elitlopp.
