Mr. Troy made it three consecutive victories in the North American Amateur Driver’s Trotting Series  when Bob Krivelin  guided the 8-year-old Lindy Lane stallion to an easy 2:04:2 victory  at Monticello Raceway on Thursday afternoon, April 29.

Sent off as second choice in the eight-horse field Krivelin sent Mr. Troy for the lead and took command before the quarter pole. When favored Invocation got away slowly from the pole position Krivelin’s plight was never in doubt when he played catch me if you can. And nobody could as Mr. Troy trotted away from his company and the farther he went the more daylight he put between himself and the rest of the field. At the wire Mr. Troy romped on to an 11-length victory over Patsy B Happy and driver Dave Yarock. Peter Gerry and Arcaro took home the show dough

Krivelin, a full-service wholesale food purveyor in Manhattan, couldn’t say much in the winner’s circle as his trotter refused to stand still but after he got to the paddock Krivelin called the publicity office and explained that his horse  wasn’t really that good today.

“I put European blinders on him-- you know the ones that go up and down when you pull the attached cord. Well I didn’t even have the cord hooked-up today but the strong winds kept moving the blinders up and down and Mr. Troy didn’t know what to make of it. He almost stopped one time and another time when he was covered up he slowed down and I had to get after him but all and all he’s a nice old veteran and a pleasure to sit behind,”

The three consecutive wins by Mr. Troy has given Bob Krivelin  added points and though he may race again when the NAADA Series moves to Yonkers Raceway next Wednesday, win or lose Krivelin will finish with the most points earned by a driver and he’ll be looking forward to the $12,000 Final at the Hilltop oval on May 12.(Monticello)
