Mystical Sunshine, with Daniel Dube in the sulky, trotted to a 1:50.3 victory in the Allerage Open Mare Trot at The Red Mile, and thetime would have set a world record if Giant Diablo had not won in 1:50.1 earlier in the afternoon.

Mystical Sunshine, a 6-year-old mare by Yankee Glide, picked up her eighth win of the year for trainer Chris Ryder. The mare won the Ms. Versatility at Delaware, Ohio, on Jug Day, and earlier in the month of September wonthe Breeders Crown Mare Trot at Mohawk. She is now approaching $2 million in career earnings.

The race also included Passionate Glide, who took the early lead before relinquishing to Wildfire Julie and driver David Miller. In the stretch drive Mystical Sunshine held off the late rally of Buck I St. Pat to win. Queen Serene took third and Passionate Glide, making her final career start, tired and finished off the board.
