Jeff Gural is optimistic that the Meadowlands can reopen for racing in May, and he spoke to Kathy Parker about the possibility in the new and free HarnessRacing Special Preview. But as racetracks remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, horses are rarin’ to go, and Gordon Waterstone talked to several trainers about the status of some of the returning stars from 2019. Some of those trainers are Jim King Jr. (Shartin N), Nancy Takter (Manchego), Chris Ryder (Bettor's Wish) and Marcus Melander (Gimpanzee).

When Dovescry is one of those returning stars and we found the reigning Hambletonian Oaks champ at a North Carolina farm still enjoying some turnout time. Still on the horizon is a new trainer for When Dovescry after his trainer Rene Allard was one of 29 persons recently indicted in the doping scandal.

Also, Kathy Parker talked to Cameo Hills Farm’s Steve Jones on current operations at the New York farm. In a guest First Over, Andrew Cohen responds to USTA president Russell Williams’ recent open letter about harness racing.
