Newcomers at Balmoral

Fighting Gypsy (1:57.1) and Odds On Casey (1:55.2) won their respective divisions of the Newcomer Pacing Series for fillies and mares Monday night at Balmoral Park.



Fighting Gypsy and driver Sam Widger sat back in seventh through much of the mile, then roared home in :26.4 to remain unbeaten in four lifetime starts. Pacesetter Just a Prayer Away (Tim Tetrick) was second and Chi Town Apache finished third.



The 4-year-old daughter of Fighting Major is owned by Mitchell Rosenthal and trained by Roger Welch.



Odds On Casey overcame the outside eight-hole to win Monday night's second division.



Driver Tim Tetrick put the 4-year-old daughter of Ft. Apache Hanover on top at the half in :59, then cruised home to win by 2 ¾ lengths over Arizona Helen (Charles Dillander) and Red to Richess (Dave Magee).



Odds On Casey remains unbeaten in three 2006 starts for owner Odds On Racing and trainer Robin Schadt.
