Red Pop won his second straight race for trainer Casie Coleman, who began conditioning the horse following a claim on March 17. Red Pop's effort, a 1:50.2 mile, lowered his lifetime best by 2 1/5 seconds.

Red Pop started from post four in the six-horse field and took the lead and sped through fractions of :26.4, :55.1 and 1:22.3. Colonel Cam rallied in the stretch drive, but Red Pop, a 5-year-old gelding by Landslide, held off his rival by a nose.
