The Akron Beacon Journal has reported that the new racino that is currently being built at Northfield Park will be called Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park. The announcement came Monday from Hard Rock International which said in a statement that the name pays tribute to Cleveland as the birthplace of rock and roll as well as being a play on the word racino.
"It's meant to express the fact that it's more than just a casino or just horse racing,” Northfield Park chairman Brock Milstein was quoted as saying. "There's a lot more involved with what we're doing.”
Scheduled to open in December, Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park will have more than 2,300 video lottery terminals and also feature a comedy club, steakhouse, buffet, Hard Rock Live music venue and Hard Rock Cafe. The project is expected to cost between $250 million to $300 million.
