Nob Hill High, Mobile take Standardbred splits

Nob Hill High, a son of McArdle out of the mare Anniecrombie, the winner of the 1988 Jugette, posted a 13-1 upset victory in 1:54 in the first of three $30,349 Standardbred divisions for 2-year-old colt and gelding pacers Thursday afternoon at the Delaware, Ohio fairgrounds.
 
Driven by David Miller for trainer Bill Webb, Nob Hill High won for the second time in six starts to go along with four second-place finishes. His dam was also named the 1988 Three-Year-Old Filly Pacer of the Year.
 
Mobile, coming off a third-place finish in the $300,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes final at The Red Mile, won the second Standardbred division. Driven by Dave Palone, Mobile defeaed Joezehrlovesjohnny (Trace Tetrick) and Diego (Brian Sears) in 1:54.1.
 
Mickey Burke trains the winning son of Real Desire for trainer Mickey Burke. The win was his second in nine starts, increasing his earnings to nearly $100,000.
 
Palone came back in the third division to score with 7-1 Born To Rockn Roll in 1:55.4. Bob Watts closed for second for Brian Sears after getting caught on the inside, with Gordiesanartist and Miller third.
 
Ron Potter trains the winning gelded son of The Panderosa for owner FTF Inc. of Johnstown, Ohio. The win was her third in five starts.
