No Jug supplement for Dynamic Youth

Owner Jerry Silva told harnessracing.com Wednesday morning that Cane Pace winner Dynamic Youth will not be supplemented to the Little Brown Jug on Thursday, Sept. 20, at Delaware, Ohio. Instead, Dynamic Youth will race in the final leg of the New York Sire Stakes Saturday night, Sept. 8, at Batavia Downs, where currently sitting 10th in the standings he will likely need a top-two finish to ensure a spot in the $225,000 final on Sept. 22 at Yonkers.
"We did say at first we were going to the Jug but the financial impact is just too much to consider,” said Silva, who shares ownership of Dynamic Youth with his wife, Theresa, along with Ken Tucci and C&G Racing Stable. "It's a $45,000 supplemental fee and then you can draw the seven or the eight (post). So we're not supplementing.”
Dynamic Youth won the Cane on Labor Day at Tioga Downs in a career best and track-record 1:48.4. Silva said afterward that while he first stated the son of Bettor's Delight would go to the Jug, after consulting with his partners and trainer Aaron Lambert the decision was reversed.
