Gordon's Gin Ms., who set a world record of 1:51 in winning a Pennsylvania Sire Stakes leg at Pocono Downs earlier this summer, will not get a chance to win the $150,000 Sire Stakes championship at Pocono Saturday (Sept. 6).

Gordon's Gin Ms. was scratched sick from the final PASS leg of the season at The Meadows on Friday (Aug. 29) and needed a win--and the points--to make the cut for the final. Without the start she only ranks 17th in the point standings for the division.

Trainer Ray Van Dreason said Gordon's Gin Ms., a daughter of Real Artist, became sick the day after her victory in the Adioo Volo at The Meadows.

"We shipped the next day, and by the time we got to Vernon she had a temperature of 104," he said. "I thought she was better last week, and then she got sick and started running a temperature again."

Van Dreason said the filly jogged well Tuesday morning (Sept. 2) and was not running a temperature or coughing. "Now I've just got to get her ready for the Jugette," he added.

Gordon's Jin Ms. is also slated to ship to Lexington for the Bluegrass and the Garnsey Memorial. She is also eligible to the Breeders Crown and the Matron.
