Ohio's Virginia Buxton dies at 91

Virginia Ruth Buxton, 91, the widow of well known Ohio horseman Richard "Dick" Buxton and mother of horseman Brad Buxton, died on Saturday, Nov. 30, at Hearth and Home Nursing Home in Urbana, Ohio.
She was born on Dec. 10, 1928, to the late Charles W. and Edith H. (Lewis) Hurps in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School and enjoyed her time with TWIG 13 at Mercy Memorial Hospital. She was also devoted to her faith and was a member of Epiphany Episcopal Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Buxton was preceded in death by her daughter, Bridget Ann Buxton, and seven siblings. She is survived by her daughter Mary Beth (Fred E.) Henry and sons Bradley (JoEllen) and Branch; grandchildren: Isaac Henry, Elizabeth (John) Wing, Emmaline (Alex) Burnett, Breck Buxton; and great-grandchildren Jack and Amelia Wing and Xander Burnett.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at noon at Epiphany Episcopal Church. Mrs. Buxton will be laid to rest next to her husband at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to PAWS, CTS, Ohio's Hospice of Dayton or Epiphany Episcopal Church in her memory.
