Despite the 10 hole and a long journey up the outside of the field, Anita Rush won her 2-year-old filly pacing division in 1:55.3 as Ohio State Fair racing continued at Scioto Downs on Thursday (July 31).

The Perfect Art filly owned by Craig Blatchford and Ashley Sutton had already won two Sire Stakes divisions and finished third in another before topping this first leg of the prestigious Ohio Triple Crown. Dan Noble directed the mile for trainer Ron Potter.

Wildniteonthetown, a Towner's Big Guy filly, left the memory of her only other outing, a start marred with breaks, in the dust as she won her split in 1:56.1. Kyle Ater trains for trainer and co-owner Dan Ater.

Among the freshmen trotting colts, Full Count scored the fastest division in 1:59. Marty Wollam trains the Striking Sahbra colt. The other two winners were SA Blue Jacket (Overcomer) in 2:00.1 and Woody Woodrow (Armbro Laser) in 2:01.1.
