Ohio to hold informational meetings on EHV-1

The first of several meetings in regards to EHV-1 will be held Friday (Feb. 9) at the Warren County Fairgrounds (Lebanon) Building A (old race office) at 11 a.m. Present will be representatives from Woodland Run Veterinary Clinic, as well as Dr. Heather Plum and Dr. Scott McQuinn.
A second meeting will be held at the Ohio Harness Horsemen's Association (OHHA) offices in Grove City, Ohio, at 1 p.m. at 2237 Sonora Drive on Friday (Feb. 9). Present will be Dr. F. John Reichert from Woodland Run Veterinary Clinic.
A third meeting will be held on Tuesday (Feb. 13) at Spennato's Restaurant at 1:30 p.m. at 10446 Northfield Road, Northfield, Ohio, 43123. Present will be representatives from Lake Equine Associates and Dr. Dan Wilson.
A fourth meeting will have a date and location to be determined in the Hicksville area involving the Northwest Ohio Horsemen. Present will be Dr. Jason Kessen from the Kessen Veterinary Clinic.
Topics will include status of EHV-1 case horses and quarantine in Ohio, movement limitations, proper biosecurity measures and disinfecting protocol. (OHHA)
