Orchid Beach, a 2-year-old filly by Jenna's Beach Boy, paced to a career best 1:55.2 victory over Cool And Clouty in a Simpson Memorial Stakes at The Red Mile Thursday night. Yannick Gingras drove the winner to her second victory in three career starts.

Thereal Ideal, who captured a Kentucky Standardbred Sales Stakes in her previous start in 1:53.4, also won a division handily in 1:56 with John Campbell in the sulky. A third split went to the Ohio-sired QE II, who gobbled up ground in the stretch drive to narrowly score in 1:55.4 for trainer-driver Chip Noble.
