Owner Angelo Frassetto dies after big win

Angelo Frassetto, who bred and raced horses under the name of The Fra Stable LLC for many years, has died, suffering a fatal heart attack just a few hours after his homebred filly Ms. Caila J Fra captured the $150,000 New Jersey Sires Stakes championship at the Meadowlands by a neck over Jerseylicious in a lifetime best 1:49.

Frassetto, of Upper Saddle River, NJ, campaigned his horses under the nom de racecourse of The Fra Stable LLC. For more than two decades his trainer was SBOANJ President Tom Luchento. More recently, the Frassetto horses were in the care of trainer Steve Elliott.

He leaves his wife, Cheryl Frassetto (nee Reynolds); his children, Terry and Christine, and his grandchildren Gates, Caila, Angelo, Angelina and Giana. He also leaves his brothers Anthony, Albert, John and Salvatore.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, NJ. Entombment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ.
