PASS championships set

The Pennsylvania Sire Stakes championships for 3 year olds will be contested Saturday night (Sept. 6) at Pocono Downs.



The first of the four $100,000 championships will be for 3-year-old filly trotters. The field is topped by Fast Lane K, a nine-time winner this season, who drew post seven. Trainer Charlie Norris will drive the filly who won the Hudson Filly Trot at Yonkers Raceway in her last start. Sierra Belle, the defending champion of the division, is the first also eligible.



Her Own Art, Dreamland's Jo Jo and Jennie Fanetta will be the favorites in the 3-year-old filly pace. Her Own Art won the last PASS leg last weekend at The Meadows while Dreamland's Jo Jo beat Jennie Fanetta by a head in the other division that night.



The 3-year-old male trotterSheffield is back to defend his championship. He'll be tested by field full of winners: seven-time winners Hellava Hush (post three) and Abundaprince (post seven), three-time winner Solicitor Hanover (post two), fve-time winners Linbo (post one), Rickie (post six) and Scooby Doo Hanover (post eight), and four-time winner Jolly Scot (post four).



Tarpaulin Hanover, who sports a mark of 1:51.2f and a fourth-place finish in the North America Cup final, drew the rail in the championship for 3-year-old pacing colts. He'll be joined by Nvincbl Artist, Tarot Hanover, Oragami Artist, Hale Hylight, The Real Dion, Wolfdancer Mindale and Quarter Carat.
