Peace A Pie, dam of Pizza Dolce, dies

Peace A Pie, the dam of Pizza Dolce 3, 1:52.4 ($668,824), Mars Bar 1:56 ($390,176), Big Stick Lindy 3, 1:55.4 ($236,176) and The Lindy Treaty 1:56h ($181,995), died Friday, Oct. 13 at Lindy Farms in Connecticut. The daughter of Valley Victory and the Speedy Crown mare Armbro Éclair, died from the complications of old age. She was 25 and had her last foal in 2013.

Peace A Pie's maternal family indicated she might be destined for accomplishments as a broodmare. Her dam Armbro Éclair was a full sister to Breeders Crown champion Armbro Flori and the family also includes Armbro Scorpion and Armbro Vanquish, a winner of  $321,552 who went on to produce 2011 Kentucky Futurity victor and world champion Manofmanymissions ($1.21 million). Peace A Pie's younger sister, Articulate Hanover, produced Hambletonian Oaks champion Southwind Allaire as well as the stakes winner Ariane du Haras 3, 1:54.2 ($403,736).

Peace A Pie's daughter Pizza Dolce continued the maternal family success by producing Miss Paris 3, 1:54.2f ($865,160), Bella Dolce 3, 1:54.2 ($730,384) and For You Almostfree 1:53 ($510,817).
