Penny Dream shattered the Plainridge Racecourse track record for 2-year-old filly trotters and set a national season's mark in the process when she captured an $1,800 conditioned event in 1:58.2. The time bested the previous Plainridge standard for her division by three seconds and is the fastest mile for her division on a five-eighths mile track in 2005.

Driven by Bob Tisbert for trainer George Ducharme, Penny Dream brushed to the lead nearing the half and drew clear to win by nearly three lengths. The daughter of Dream Vacation was a $10,000 yearling purchase of Paul Fontaine and Al Ross.
