Bob Marks of Perretti Farms told harnessracing.com Monday morning that Perretti Farms, in association with Lindy Farms of Conn., has purchased a significant interest in Lucky Chucky, the reigning Dan Patch Award winner as the 2009 Two-Year-Old Colt Trotter of the Year.
A son of Windsong’s Legacy out of the Muscles Yankee mare Aerobics, Lucky Chucky was bred by Perretti Farms and purchased as a yearling by Neal Goldman, Amy Lynn Stoltzfus and trainer Chuck Sylvester.
In 2009, Lucky Chucky won nine of 12 starts—including a career-best 1:55.1 taken in a Breeders Crown elimination—and had earnings of $667,792. His biggest victories came in the $450,000 Valley Victory at Woodbine, the $166,800 Matron final at Dover Downs, and divisions of the Bluegrass and International Stallion Stake at The Red Mile. He also finished second in the $600,000 Breeders Crown final and third in the $523,600 Peter Haughton Memorial.
Marks added that following Lucky Chucky’s racing career, the stallion will stand stud at Perretti Farms in Cream Ridge, N.J.
