Pierce suspended 10 days

Driver Ron Pierce has received a 10-day suspension in the aftermath of the Breeders Crown elimination accident that left John Campbell with a broken leg and a horse dead. Pierce was driving Total Truth in the second elim Saturday, Oct. 28, at Woodbine when the colt bore in at the wire, taking the legs of Shark Gesture out from underneath him. Campbell, following with Scootin Delight, went over the fallen horse, resulting in the Hall of Famer\'s injuries and the ultimate euthanization of Scootin Delight.

Pierce was suspended by the Ontario Racing Commission for bearing \"in approaching the finish and did cause an accident fin 2nd pl 3rd.\" The suspension is scheduled to run from Wednesday, Nov. 1, through Friday, Nov. 10.
