Pizza Dolce sets track record

Filly Futurity



In the first elimination of the Kentucky Filly Futurity, Southwind Flanders was an easy winner in 1:55.1. Driver John Campbell took her to the front at the quarter pole and kept the lead. Tasty Chip was three lengths behind for second, Don’t Dawdle finished third with Up Front Kay was fourth and Electric Muscles was fifth to also earn a return trip to the final.



The second elimination belonged to Pizza Dolce and driver David Miller. The Conway Hall filly trotted to a tremendous mile of 1:52.4, a track record for three-year-old trotting fillies, making it three in a row and four of nine this year. Armbro Affair and Ron Pierce followed for second, Sunday Yankee was third, Filly At Bigs came in fourth and fifth was Under My Thumb.



The top five finishers in each of the two eliminations will return for the second heat, which is scheduled for the 13th race.
