Sunday's New York Times contains a story written by Bill Finley discussing the financial plight of racing in New Jersey, including the fallout of a recent report released by New Jersey Gov. Christopher Christie that notes that one of the solutions to aiding the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority includes the possibility of the closing of the Meadowlands or reducing race dates. Finley talked to Hall of Fame driver John Campbell, who said that “anybody who takes this report lightly is sadly mistaken.”
Campbell added, "The governor put the committee together for a reason, and if this is what they are recommending, this is a scary situation.”
