Twenty-three 3-year-old male trotters were divided into three $70,000 eliminations for Saturday afternoon's Hambletonian at the Meadowlands, with the top three finishers in each, plus the fourth-place horse with the highest lifetime earnings, advancing to the same-day $1 million final.

Stanley Dancer Memorial winner Royalty For Life drew post 8 in the first Hambletonian elimination, taking on seven rivals that includes Yonkers Trot winner Dewycolorintheline (post 3) and New Jersey Sires Stakes champion Smilin Eli (post 2).

Breeders Crown champion Wheeling N Dealin, last year's undefeated divisional champ in both the U.S. and Canada, who is winless in three starts this year, drew post 1 in the second Hambletonian elim. The 2012 Peter Haughton Memorial winner Aperfectyankee will start from post 2, while Dontyouforgetit, the beaten favorite in the Yonkers Trot, drew post 7.

Earl Beal Jr. Memorial winner Corky will start from post five in the third elimination, a field that includes Pennsylvania Sires Stakes winner Spider Blue Chip, who was second by a head to Royalty For Life in the Dancer final.

The Hambletonian eliminations are scheduled as Races 7 through 9, with the final going postward as Race 12 with an approximate post time of 4:41 p.m. Post time for the first race on Saturday is 11:50 a.m.
