The second of four preps for the Prix d\'Amerique took place at Hippodrome Paris-Vincennes Saturday afternoon. And the winner was one that has been expected for a while.

Nouba Saptel has been unfortunate in some previous races--bad trips, bad drives. bad luck-- but now she took a well deserved victory, and in impressive fashion.

The Prix du Bourbonnais, with $72,500 to the winner, was raced over 2,850 meters (or about 1 3/4 mile) and the most experienced older trotters had a 25-meter handicap.

Nouba Du Saptel, who is owned, trained and was driven by Pascal Andre Geslin, challenged for the lead and nobody could follow the 6-year-old mare with three-eighths of a mile to go. The Italian-owned, but Fabrice Souloy-trained trotter Exploit Caf (Toss Out), driven by Franck Nivard, finished second while Lontzac (Sebrazac) and Michel Lenoir were third.
