Once again, baby races will be held at the Meadowlands on Saturday morning, June 15, beginning at 10 a.m., with 19 races. Among the rookies will be 17 offspring from the first crop of Muscle Hill, the 2009 Horse of the Year.

Through Wednesday, June 11, three pacers had taken 1:55 marks in baby races to lead that gait's speed parade: Somesizesomestyle (Somebeachsomewhere-Honey Bunny, by Precious Bunny) and Somestarsomewhere (Somebeachsomewhere-Lovely Assistant, by Art Major), both trained by Ron Burke, and Always A Miki (Always A Virgin-Artstopper, by Artsplace), trained by Joe Holloway. The Burke rookies were $50,000 (Somesizesomestyle) and $110,000 yearlings while Always A Miki was bred by owner Joe Hurley's Roll The Dice Stable. The fastest of the trotters through June 11 was Lifetime Pursuit (Cantab Hall-Queen Of Grace, by Yankee Glide), bred and owned by Brittany Farms and trained by Jimmy Takter.
