Promysquous Lady and Dee Dee Blue remained perfect in this year\'s Blizzard Pacing Series with solid victories in Thursday night\'s second leg at Woodbine Racetrack.

In the opening $16,000(C) division, Carmen Hie eased Dee Dee Blue off the wings early and waited for things to settle before moving to the front just before the opening half of :56.1. The pair took the field past three-quarters in 1:25.2 and then braved a strong headwind and a host of challengers to hold on for a half-length tally in 1:55.2.

Mustang Kensley followed all the way in the pocket and finished second while Aileens Luck rallied for the show spot.

The victory was the second straight to the start the season for the 4-year-old Island Fantasy mare who went just one for 11 last season. Hie does the training and co-owns with the Cockshutt Stable of Rockwood, Ont.

Promysquous Lady survived a scare but was able to weave her way through traffic to score in the second division in a clocking of 1:55.

The 4-year-old Pro Bono Best lass left alertly from post five and was in complete control past the first half in :57.3. At that point, Gobro Gramma G made a move toward the lead and driver Mike Saftic opted to allow that one to clear as the field approached the final turn.

Promysquous Lady appeared blocked on the inside third as the field turned for home, but Saftic was able to do some nifty stick handling late to secure the win. Longshot Armbro Decal came on to finish second over Northern Vitality who grabbed the show spot.

It was the fourth straight win for Promyquous Lady who ended off 2006 with a win in the $44,200(C) Niagara Series final. Trainer Des Tackoor co-owns the mare along with John Levy Racing Ltd. and Aaron Waxman of Ontario.

The final of the Blizzard Pacing Series goes next Thursday night at Woodbine. (Woodbine)
