Rainbow Blue easily captured the $705,900(c) Fan Hanover Final at Woodbine over a sloppy oval Saturday night, pacing to a 1:51.1 victory. She defeated Kikikatie by three quarters of a length, but did not seem in jeopardy of being beaten.

Driver Ron Pierce floated Rainbow Blue away from the gate and settled fourth while David Miller shot to the front with Kikikatie from post two. Before the first quarter was reached in :26.1, Glowing Report was ranging up first-over, and once they turned into the backstretch, Rainbow Blue was following second-over.

But not for long. Pierce directed his filly three-wide and took control. Rainbow Blue opened up by 2 1/4 lengths in the stretch before cruising to the wire under wraps.

L Dees Val was four lengths back in third while Invitro, the fourth-place finisher, was 10 1/2 lengths back at the wire.

Rainbow Blue has now won 14 of 15 starts this season. Her only loss came in the Mistletoe Shalee final at the Meadowlands on Hambletonian Day when she seemed to shy from a cameraman in the infield and broke stride.
