After six second-place finishes and two thirds in her first eight starts, Ravishing Lady picked a terrific time to break her maiden, capturing Tuesday night's (Sept. 9) $90,000 Lexington Breeders Classic for 2-year-old filly pacers at The Red Mile.

Dale Hiteman moved Ravishing Lady to the outside down the backstretch from near the back of the field and he had to go three wide when a pair of horses he was behind went offstride. Continuing to move first-over into the final turn, Ravishing Lady secured the lead and never looked back. She crossed the wire in 1:56, defeating Blue Hour (Brett Miller) by one length, with Whats My Line (Ron Pierce) third.

"She's been racing real good against some real nice fillies," said Hiteman. "This race was kind of odd the way it turned out with horses breaking and scattering things out. I took the lead and she took over from there. When we turned for home she really picked it up."

Owned by James Jones, Jerry MacHiela and breeders Lee and Linda DeVisser, Ravishlng Lady is a daughter of Jenna's Beach Boy-So Ravishing. Joe Seekman does the training.
