The pacing stallion Real Desire, the sire of Meadowlands Pace contenders Tell All and Running Book, will be shuttling to New Zealand soon to stand at stud at Alabar Farm for the Southern Hemisphere breeding season. He will return next February to continue standing at stud in the U.S. under the management of Brittany Stallion Management.
\"He needs to be in New Zealand by Sept. 8 and then he\'ll be back here no later than Feb. 8,\" said Brittany\'s Art Zubrod. \"We\'ve made a one-year lease deal so we can see how he does there.\"
Real Desire\'s fee in New Zealand will be $6,500(NZ) or $6,000(Australian). In the U.S. his fee for 2007 was $7,000.
Real Desire, the 2002 Horse of the Year, stood his first year at stud in 2003 and bred 196 mares at Brittany Farms in Kentucky. That crop is now 3 year olds. In 2006 he bred 118 mares and was moved to Walnridge Farm in Pennsylvania.
In addition to North America Cup winner Tell All and Meadowlands Pace elim winner Running Book, Real Desire has sired last year\'s stakes-winning filly Cabana Fever.
