Review Stakes at Springfield set for Tuesday

The Grand Circuit Review Stakes at Springfield, normally held on Monday and Tuesday have been rescheduled and all of the Review Stakes will be raced on Tuesday this year. The 15-race card of the Grand Circuit stop at Springfield has a first race post time of noon.

In the fourth race, the $18,000 Review Stakes for 2-year-old pacing fillies, trainer Erv Miller debuts Polar Opposition, a royally bred daughter of 2005 Horse of the Year Rocknroll Hanover and 2002 Dan Patch winner, Loyal Opposition. Polar Opposition is 6-1 from the rail with Marcus Miller driving.

The undefeated Sgt. Matt is also racing at Springfield on Tuesday in the $22,000 The Little Pat Review Stakes for 2-year-old pacing colts.  The winner of the Kentucky Fair Stakes final at The Red Mile on Aug. 7 has won all seven of his starts and has a career-best time of 1:52.4.  A son of Jenna’s Beach Boy, Sgt. Matt is the 2-1 favorite from post sixth in the fifth race on the card. He is driven by Tyler Smith and trained by Steve Carter. (harnessracing.com)
