Skydancer Hanover came up the pylons to win the opening $22,500 division of the first leg of the Robert Suslow Series at the Meadowlands Saturday night (April 10), pacing to a life-time best 1:53. Brandon's Cowboy also set a new lifetime mark of 1:52.1 in capturing the second Suslow division.



Driver Mike Lachance found room along the inside with Skydancer Hanover and he urged the 3-year-old son of Western Hanoeer to the victory, edging Georgia Pacific (David Miller) by a head. Kenny The Cowboy N (Brian Sears) was third.



The win for Skydancer Hanover came in his season debut. He is owned by trainer Chris Oaks, George Alter and William Kenyon II.



Brandon's Cowboy, who finished third behind I Am A Fool in last year's $540,000 Breeders Crown final, was a half-length winner for driver Daniel Dube. Whodunit (Cat Manzi) was second, with Circle L Kid (Jim Morrill Jr.) third.



Mark Ford trains the winning 3-year-old son of The Panderosa who is owned by Martin Scharf.
