RUA Looker in 1:58

RUA Looker won the fastest of two $25,976 Ohio Breeders Championship divisioins for 3-year-old colt and gelding trotters Wednesday afternoon at the Delaware, Ohio County Fairgrounds. Hugh Beatty Jr. drove the winner for trainer Jim Mulinix and owner Rex Ulrich, who were joined in the winner's circle by owner Dean Davis and trainer Kurt Sugg, who revealed they had purchased the gelding a half-hour earlier.



A son of Ilooklikemymom, RUA Looker won in 1:58, easily defeating Haste and John Stevenson, who were second and third, respectively. It was the sixth win of the year in 13 starts for RUA Looker, increasing his career earnings to more than $64,000.



The opening OBC split for the sophomore colts and geldings went to Indian Hill Rocket and driver Luc Ouellette in 1:58.4. Nathan My Boy was second with Trojan Hero third.



For Indian Hill Rocket, the win was his ninth of the year in 16 attempts. The son of Corleone was coming off a win in the $100,000 Ohio Sire Stakes final at Northfield Park Sept. 3.
